My Journey in Supporting Children and Young People.

My career has always been guided by one clear passion — supporting children and young people to feel safe, understood, and empowered to thrive.

I began my professional journey with my NNEB diploma, which gave me a strong foundation in child development and early years care. From there, I worked in pre-school and early years settings, developing a deep understanding of the importance of early attachment, emotional security, and play-based learning.

As my career progressed, I moved into primary mainstream education and specialist schools, where I worked as a 1-to-1 support practitioner. This role allowed me to support children with a wide range of additional needs, emotional challenges, and learning differences. It also strengthened my ability to build trusting relationships and tailor support to each child’s unique needs.

I am a trained ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) and a Licensed Thrive Practitioner, as well as a Family Thrive Course Leader. These qualifications allow me to support children and families with emotional wellbeing, self-regulation, resilience, and confidence. I have extensive training and experience in attachment, Autism, and ADHD, and I have a strong understanding of the developing brain and how children process emotions and experiences.

My work is guided by the principles of PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy), which underpin the way I build relationships with children and young people — creating a safe, nurturing space where they feel truly seen and heard.

I am currently training as a Child and Adolescent Counsellor, further deepening my ability to support children with emotional wellbeing, anxiety, bereavement, and life challenges. I provide practical strategies to help children understand their emotions, build coping skills, and develop confidence in themselves.

Every child deserves to feel supported, valued, and understood. My work is rooted in compassion, evidence-based practice, and a genuine belief in every child’s potential.
